Sweet Romance: Heidi & Colin Campbell

Meet the Bride
Name: Heidi Brenan
The Future: Mrs. Campbell
Age: 23
Dated Her Man: 8 years
Engaged: 10 months
Ring Cut: Round

Heidi is a young beauty whose outgoing, fun and caring personality doesn’t go unnoticed. Born and raised in West Lafayette, Indiana, Heidi bravely ventured out to the west coast to earn her undergraduate degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Going to a school far away from friends and family was a challenge, but Heidi considers maintaining the friendships from back home one of her greatest accomplishments. Her compassionate spirit and genuine love for others is reflected in her passions which include spending time with family and friends in addition to nurturing her personal relationship with God. Heidi currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio where she is attending Physical Therapy School and is loving life with husband, Colin.

When asked, she answered:

What is the best part about planning the wedding?
Planning the ceremony—especially planning the songs and writing our vows together. Colin wanted to give input on that so I was happy he was excited about it.

What is the worst part about planning the wedding?
For me it was being in Physical Therapy school, having busy schedules and moving things to our new house! We didn’t plan down time with each other. Having a to-do list was always on my mind and towards the end it was very stressful.

What is something you’d do different?
Spend more time with Colin—be intentional about making time for us instead of constantly talking about the wedding during the planning process. Also, I’d have loved to talk with and say thank you to all of our guests at the wedding.

Advice for Brides-to-Be?
The night goes by so fast—try to enjoy it! We were on the fence about a videographer and are extremely happy we decided to hire one because now we can watch the footage and relive the happiest day of our lives.

What celebrity would you invite to your wedding and why?
Drew Brees because he is a childhood hero of ours as a quarterback of Purdue university, does a lot of work in the community and is a great role model:)

The Celebration
Heidi and Colin are high school sweethearts. Colin first noticed Heidi when she became part of the same Bible study group his mom joined—having seen her at a few meetings that were hosted at his home, he mustered up the courage to ask her out. From that moment on, the two embarked on a journey that eventually led to the altar.

Ten months after a romantic lakeside sunset proposal in Ohio, Heidi and Colin tied the knot on August 9, 2014, at Laurel Hall in Indianapolis, Indiana. The celebration hosted 200 guests with an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. The outdoor ceremony was like a page out of a fairytale book. A vibrant green blanket of grass and dense population of lively trees set the stage for this magical day. Eight bridesmaids emerged onto the scene in delicate blush floor-length dresses, which nicely complimented the fullness of the green landscape and sharp grey groomsmen suits. Moments later, Heidi appeared in a dainty A-line gown with sweetheart neckline, lace detail and fingertip veil. United with her prince at the altar, Heidi and Colin pledged their life to one another, declared their love and officially became Mr. and Mrs. Campbell.

The celebration continued with an indoor reception but maintained the romantic atmosphere of the ceremony. The tables were elegantly dressed in white and decorated with exquisite blush, ivory and mint green flower arrangements. Furthermore, the strong woodwork and antique chandeliers inside Laurel Hall added a dose of refinement to the already tasteful environment.

Following a post ceremony photo session, Heidi and Colin joined the party among their guests. They shared their first dance as a married couple to the song Only One and Only You by Steven Curtis Chapman and savored every moment they had being surrounded by loved ones. The celebration ended with the release of Chinese lanterns in the sky and a sparkler send-off, the perfect way to close one chapter and start the next—deeply in love, with sparks flying.
